Meet jOY
Meet Joy, our Philippines Outreach Manager at Operation Zian Philippines.
Joy plays a vital role in bringing our mission to life in the Philippines, working closely with local communities, families, churches, and partner organisations to protect vulnerable children and help prevent exploitation.
With a heart for serving others, Joy helps coordinate community outreach programmes, build meaningful partnerships, and develop initiatives that provide education, practical support, and hope to children and families facing difficult circumstances.
As we continue to expand our work throughout the Philippines, Joy is helping lead our efforts on the ground, ensuring that our mission is more than just words, but meaningful action.
Her heart for the community reflects what Operation Zian stands for: protecting the vulnerable, restoring hope, and building a future where every child can live free from exploitation.
Meet Jesa
Meet Jesa, our Outreach Coordinator and Child Protection Lead at Operation Zian Philippines.
Jesa plays an important role in leading our community outreach efforts throughout the lower Visayas region of the Philippines, working to support vulnerable children, strengthen families, and bring hope to communities affected by poverty and exploitation.
Having dedicated her life to evangelism, Jesa brings a deep passion for sharing the love of Jesus and serving those in need. Her years of ministry have shaped her heart for reaching people who are often overlooked and ensuring that every child feels valued, protected, and loved.
As our Child Protection Lead, Jesa helps champion our commitment to creating safe environments for children, promoting awareness, and preventing exploitation before it begins.
Through her faith, compassion, and dedication to serving others, Jesa reflects the heart of Operation Zian: protecting children, restoring hope, and demonstrating the love of Christ through meaningful action.
At Operation Zian Philippines, we believe that protecting children from exploitation begins long before exploitation takes place.
Our work in the Philippines focuses on reaching vulnerable communities, addressing the root causes of exploitation, and empowering children and families with the knowledge, resources, and support they need to build safer futures.
Through our dedicated team on the ground, we work alongside local churches, community leaders, and partner organisations to deliver practical, community-based initiatives.
At Operation Zian, we believe that lasting change happens when organisations come together with a shared heart for serving vulnerable communities.
Through our partnership with SB Medical, we bring together healthcare, practical assistance, and child protection education to support families in the Philippines.
While SB Medical focuses on providing essential medical care and health support to parents and adults, Operation Zian works alongside them to care for the children.
During these community outreaches, Operation Zian provides food and delivers our child exploitation prevention programme, helping children understand personal boundaries, recognise unsafe situations, identify warning signs of abuse and exploitation, and know where to turn for help.
This collaborative approach allows us to support the whole family. While parents receive valuable medical attention, their children are provided with nourishment, encouragement, and potentially life-changing education.
By combining medical outreach with child protection and prevention, we aim to address both immediate needs and long-term vulnerabilities within communities.
Together, SB Medical and Operation Zian are working to bring healing, hope, and protection to families, because healthier families and safer children build stronger communities.
Our Child Exploitation Prevention Programme
Our prevention programme in the Philippines is designed to reach vulnerable children and families, providing practical support, education, spiritual encouragement, and ongoing care.
Providing Food and Practical Support
We recognise that poverty and hardship can leave children more vulnerable to exploitation. Through our community outreaches, we provide food and practical assistance, helping meet immediate needs while building relationships with children and their families.
Sharing the Gospel
Our mission is rooted in the love of Jesus Christ. Through age-appropriate Bible teaching, prayer, and encouragement, we share the Gospel and remind children that they are loved, valued, and created with a purpose.
Teaching Children How to Stay Safe
A key part of our programme is educating children about the dangers of exploitation, particularly online. We teach them how to recognise unsafe situations, protect their personal information, understand healthy boundaries, identify online grooming, and seek help from trusted adults when something doesn't feel right.
Partnering With Local Churches
We believe that protecting children requires more than a one-day outreach. That's why we work closely with local churches to help create a lasting network of care and support.
Through these partnerships, we aim to ensure children have trusted adults looking out for their wellbeing, opportunities for ongoing discipleship, and a safe community where they can continue growing in their faith.
Following Up With Children and Families
Our commitment doesn't end when an outreach finishes. Where additional support is needed, our Philippines team works with families and trusted local partners to arrange appropriate follow-up, offer encouragement, and connect them with further assistance.
Any child protection concerns are handled through appropriate safeguarding procedures and referrals, with the child's safety and wellbeing always coming first.
Our Long-Term Vision
We don't simply want to reach children for a day. We want to help build communities where children are educated, supported, protected, and surrounded by people who genuinely care about their future.
By combining food, faith, prevention education, local church partnerships, and ongoing family support, we aim to address the vulnerabilities that place children at risk of exploitation.
Our mission is simple: reach children before exploitation does.
If you did this for the least of them, you did this for me.
- Jesus
