transparency

At Operation Zian, we believe transparency is not just a responsibility, but a biblical principle. As a Christian organisation, we are called to walk in truth, act with integrity, and remain accountable in everything we do.

Spiritual Accountability

We believe our actions should reflect the teachings of Jesus Christ. This means being honest about our work, acknowledging our shortcomings, and ensuring that our mission always remains rooted in faith, humility, and integrity.

"For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man." — 2 Corinthians 8:21 (NIV)

Financial Accountability

Every donation entrusted to Operation Zian carries a responsibility. We believe supporters deserve to know how their contributions are used, where resources are directed, and how their generosity supports vulnerable children and families.

"Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found faithful." — 1 Corinthians 4:2 (ESV)

We are committed to responsible stewardship, open communication, and accountability to our supporters, partners, and the communities we serve.

Because trust is not simply something we ask for, it is something we must earn through honesty, integrity, and faithful stewardship.

Our Commitment to Child Protection

At Operation Zian, the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority. We operate under a strict Child Protection Policy, designed to safeguard vulnerable children from abuse, exploitation, neglect, and harm.

Our policy establishes clear expectations for staff, volunteers, and partners, including appropriate conduct, professional boundaries, child-safe outreach practices, safeguarding procedures, and the reporting of child protection concerns.

A Commitment to Transparency

We believe that any organisation working with vulnerable children must be willing to be held accountable.

That's why most of our child protection policies, procedures, and safeguarding documentation are available to the public upon request. We believe in openness and have no interest in hiding how we operate or how we protect the children entrusted to our care.

However, transparency must never come at the expense of safety. Certain information may be redacted where disclosure could compromise the safety of children, families, team members, or our operations. This may include sensitive personal information, confidential safeguarding matters, and security-related procedures.

Accountability Rooted in Faith

We believe protecting children is both a moral responsibility and a biblical calling.

"Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute." — Proverbs 31:8 (NIV)

We welcome genuine questions, scrutiny, and accountability because we believe that organisations dedicated to protecting children should lead by example.

Our commitment is simple: protect children without compromise, operate with integrity, and remain accountable for the trust placed in us.

Our Commitment to Financial Transparency

At Operation Zian, we believe every dollar donated is a responsibility entrusted to us. We are committed to managing our finances with honesty, integrity, and accountability.

We recognise that our supporters give generously because they believe in our mission to protect vulnerable children. They deserve to know how their money is being used and where it is going.

Open and Accountable Finances

We are committed to maintaining clear financial records, ensuring donations are used responsibly, and providing transparency around our programmes, outreach expenses, and operational costs.

We believe financial accountability should never be something a charitable organisation fears.

That's why our financial records, expenditure breakdowns, and relevant supporting documentation are available to the public upon reasonable request, subject to applicable privacy and confidentiality obligations.

Where necessary, sensitive information such as personal banking details, donor information, or details that could compromise the safety of our teams and beneficiaries will be redacted.

Biblical Stewardship

Our commitment to financial integrity is rooted in Scripture.

"Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much." — Luke 16:10 (NIV)

We believe that being faithful stewards of what God has entrusted to us means making responsible financial decisions, avoiding unnecessary expenditure, and ensuring our resources are directed towards meaningful impact.

We do not believe donors should have to wonder where their money goes. Transparency builds trust, accountability protects our mission, and integrity honours God.

At Operation Zian, we are committed to demonstrating all three.

Our Commitment to Leadership Accountability

At Operation Zian, we believe that no individual should have unchecked authority, especially within an organisation dedicated to protecting vulnerable children.

Our leadership structure is built upon humility, accountability, transparency, and biblical principles, ensuring that decisions are made in the best interests of the children, families, and communities we serve.

Leadership Through Service, Not Personal Gain

Our Founder and CEO, Zack, does not receive a salary from Operation Zian. His involvement is driven by a commitment to the mission rather than personal financial benefit.

Furthermore, our CEO does not hold ultimate decision-making authority. We believe that genuine accountability requires oversight, shared responsibility, and a willingness to be challenged.

Board Oversight and Spiritual Accountability

Operation Zian operates under a board governance structure, with a pastor holding final decision-making authority to provide spiritual oversight and accountability.

This structure is intended to ensure that our organisation remains grounded in Christian values, that leadership decisions are carefully considered, and that no single individual can place personal interests above our mission.

Biblical Foundations

We believe leadership should reflect the example set by Jesus Christ: serving others with humility rather than seeking power or recognition.

"Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant." — Matthew 20:26 (NIV)

Scripture also reminds us of the importance of seeking wise counsel:

"Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed." — Proverbs 15:22 (NIV)
